Get involved with our community and help stop the stigma surrounding homelessness

All of us have the ability to end homelessness, and there is no question it can be done if the city works together. But systemic change can’t happen overnight. We’re kick-starting a citywide movement for change that welcomes contributions from everyone across society.

Here are some of the ways you can support the Alliance and become a part of our community:

We know that people make Glasgow, and our volunteering opportunities focus on positively impacting people.

Volunteer with us as a Befriender and spend a couple of hours a week, or month, building a trusted relationship with someone who is homeless.

As a Volunteer Befriender, you’ll support an individual to feel less isolated and more connected to their community by chatting or taking part in social activities with them. The time you spend with them will encourage them to feel more in control of their lives.

We’ll match you with someone who shares similar interests, and you’ll receive training and ongoing support from our Volunteering Befriending Co-ordinators. There may also be the chance to gain a qualification in the future.

Please note this is a Glasgow Alliance to End Homelessness initiative managed by partner organisation YPeople and Aspire.
